About Penisar Mynydd Caravan Park
Tucked into the rolling hills above St Asaph – Britain's smallest cathedral city – Penisar Mynydd Caravan Park strikes an appealing balance between peaceful countryside and coastal convenience. The pitches are spacious and well-maintained, spread across both grass and hardstanding, with touring caravanners praising the easy access and generous size. Facilities are spotless, with warm showers and immaculate toilet blocks kept to high standards by the friendly, helpful team.
From here you're well placed for day trips to the classic seaside resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn, or for quieter adventures inland – the stunning Dyserth waterfalls are just a short drive away, alongside a handful of useful village shops. The site itself feels genuinely rural, surrounded by forest and open views, yet public transport links keep you connected. Walkers and cyclists will find plenty to explore, and there's good tourist information on site to help you make the most of North Wales.

What visitors say
Stayed on site for three nights, very warm welcome. Site is very well kept, lovely and quiet. Pizza on Friday is a great idea and delicious. Will return. Just one little little bit of advice, maybe add another hook on the shower door and maybe add a shelf in the shower, not particularly nice to put shower gel, shampoo etc on the floor, but I'm being a bit picky. Location is good, few minutes from Prestatyn, just off A55 but can't hear it, easy access to Chester or further into north Wales.

Really lovely quiet clean space that feels like your in the middle of nowhere but only a short drive from Prestatyn and Rhyl. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of space between vans. The toilet and shower block are warm and very clean. Have stayed here before and will stay again.

Lovely campsite, friendly staff who are very helpful. Spent a lovely (if busy) three days here located just at the top of Rhuallt hill with obvious beautiful scenery. A good mix of permanent caravans, touring caravans and motorhomes. A word to the wise, if you're a motorhome that once onsite you can't move, get your provisions in before you arrive. Unless you want to cycle up the equivalent of Rhuallt hill after a lovely ride down into Dyseth. I enquired about a taxi into Dyseth, £25 or £40 into Rhuddlan. That's just there, same cost to get back. All that said, it doesn't reflect on the campsite, that was just our mistake. Mike's lovely wife volunteered to run us to the local Asda which was really really kind of her and saved me from a possible heart attack cycling back up from Dyseth...... AGAIN lol
