Dovedale

Staffordshire Moorlands

This converted barn sits in the Staffordshire Moorlands with views across Dovedale's limestone formations and wooded ravine. Built from stone with exposed beams and character throughout, it's a substantial rural retreat that sleeps six across three bedrooms: a four-poster double, a standard double with ensuite shower, and a twin room. Two bathrooms serve the property, along with a separate toilet.

Downstairs, the open-plan living and dining space features a wood-burning stove and the equipment for cooking from scratch—oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave included. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are covered, and there's an initial stock of wood for the stove. The gardens wrap around the property with seating areas front and back, plus a barbecue. Parking for three cars is on site, though access is via a rough track. One small well-behaved dog is welcome at no extra cost; the property draws water from a borehole rather than mains supply.

A pub sits within a mile, and the location puts you among some of the Peak District's most walked valleys and nature reserves. Families can request a cot and highchair when booking.

Dovedale is very scenic and beautiful. You get free parking if you are a National Trust Member, so happily got my parking for free. I would high reccomend this place.

lucky!

Dovedale is such a beautiful part of the country and we really enjoyed visiting here today. We got extremely lucky with the weather this afternoon. Some absolutely breathtaking views and a clean, well-preserved environment, a relatively easy walk. Today we only walked up to the stepping stones, but we’d love to return and walk further!

It is beautiful here. However. I went early Monday morning and the litter was unreal. Absolutely disgusting. Glass bottles, cans, nappies. Lazy people ruining it for everyone.
