What visitors say

A beautiful place to visit. Suggest purchasing your tickets the day before you go for the best price. Ample free parking. Also a separate, closer parking area for disabled card holders. 2 cafes to chose from. One in the house grounds and one eco friendly cafe near the gardens. Toilets by both cafes. A shop in the house grounds. The house is well worth a visit, very impressive. The gardens and sculpture park are a lovely walk around, plenty to see. Unfortunately we ran out of time to walk around the parkland. Looked a big area for walks.

We visited for cross country day at Burghley Horse Trials. A fabulous day. Very well organised entry and exit for the huge crowd. Parking easy and well signposted to help find the car again. Great facilities for an outdoor event. Plenty of catering all the way round and lots of stewards to help. commentary audible all the way round as well. Great quality action too with riders regularly passing us.

We went in the absolute pouring rain, and still had a magnificent day. We bought tickets online in advance, as it was a little cheaper. Then attended the gardens and only briefly visited the adventure play area because of the bad weather. But it was a day well spent. Location and parking were easy, facilities including the toilets and cafe were of a high standard. We took lunch for a sheltered picnic, but the food on offer looked good. The gardens were just full of fun surprises, grand sculptures and interesting stories. And the adventure play area (on a drier day) could have easily filled a couple of hours of fun with kids of all sizes. Well worth a visit. We will be back in better weather.

I’ve driven up and down the A1 thousands of times. I always fall for the poor motorway services and the shit 💩 food on offer. Not anymore! We decided to stop off at Burghley 🏠 House, literally 5 minutes off one junction and was not disappointed. What a fabulous country home! We arrived around 3PM on a Sunday when the crowds had died down. No queues. Easy to park - free. Fabulous gardens; highly recommended. Must go back and visit inside the house. It cost £28 for two adults and one teenager to enter the gardens. We spent about 90 minutes looking around. Will definitely go back!
