About William Cecil
St Martins is one of Stamford's handsomest streets, and it's here that the William Cecil makes its home, close to Burghley House and within reach of Rutland Water. The setting gives guests a base that feels properly rooted in Lincolnshire stone-town character while remaining close to open country and water beyond the town.
The hotel has 27 rooms, with drinks available in-room and free WiFi throughout. There's a restaurant, bar and snack bar for meals at whatever pace suits, plus breakfast served each morning. A garden offers a spot to sit outside, while the on-site spa and sauna add a place to unwind after a day exploring. Business services and porter services are also available, and a lift makes moving between floors straightforward.
The William Cecil also works as a wedding venue, and practicalities are well covered with free on-site parking and luggage storage for those arriving early or leaving late. Pets are welcome too. With Burghley House and Rutland Water both close by, it suits guests keen to combine a comfortable stay with time spent outdoors.
