What visitors say
Small coffee shop and toilet facilities open during school holidays. Playground, good sized car park and usually an ice cream van! Nice walks with waterside views of the Thames estuary. Small lakes for crabbing or remote control boating. We stayed at a quiet local campsite only 10 mins walk away overnight.

Beautiful park, could easily spend all day here. Free parking and toilets on site. Absolutely stunning area with gorgeous views. Will definitely come back again and try the cafe

A very nice, calm place to spend an evening. There is plenty of open space and it’s usually not too busy, making it a peaceful spot with lots of great areas to walk and take in the historical surroundings. The only downside is that you can’t go inside the fort itself, but the grounds and surrounding park are well worth a visit!

We visited to have a quick coffee in the cafe and ended up staying over two hours. The grounds were lovely, the views amazing and we spotted so much wildlife. We then stayed on for lunch, which was inexpensive and tasty. Highly recommend this place and the cafe.
