The Smiddy

Loch Earn draws water sports enthusiasts, walkers and golfers – there are two dozen courses within an hour's drive, and the loch itself sits at the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The Smiddy occupies a quiet spot in this landscape, a converted smithy with stone walls and a woodburner in the main living space. It sleeps six across three bedrooms: one with a king bed downstairs, and two galleried rooms upstairs, each with a pair of single beds. The bathroom is on the ground floor.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with an electric cooker, dishwasher and microwave. Essentials like bed linen, towels and WiFi are included; heating and hot water are metered after an initial allowance. The property has its own parking and sits just 300 yards from a jetty, slipway and mooring buoys on the loch – if you have your own boat, this is the draw. A patio with garden furniture overlooks the water. The village pub is less than a mile away, and the Three Saints Way walking route starts 50 metres from the door. One dog is welcome. No smoking.
