The village itself has shops, restaurants and pubs within walking distance, plus its own station with direct services to Buxton. For outdoor space closer to home, Torkington Park is a 10-minute walk away, and cycle trails like the Middlewood Way and Sett Valley Trail are accessible locally.

Carlton House is a semi-detached property with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping up to five. The ground floor holds a living and dining room with smart TV and French doors onto a south-facing patio, plus a kitchen with electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower; the second bedroom is a double with French doors to a Juliet balcony; the third is a single. The second bathroom has a bath with shower over. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There is off-road parking for two cars and an enclosed garden. One well-behaved pet can stay at no extra cost. The property is non-smoking, and is not suitable for children under five years old.
