About Britannia Hotel Stockport

Dialstone Lane sits away from the busiest part of Stockport, giving the Britannia Hotel Stockport a quieter setting while remaining within reach of the town centre and its main attractions. With 187 rooms, it's a sizeable property geared towards a broad mix of guests, from families to those attending events at its meeting rooms or wedding venue.

Rooms are straightforward and modern rather than luxurious, with en-suite bathrooms, family options and suites available, plus the usual comforts of free WiFi and drinks in room. Facilities stretch further than many hotels of this size, taking in an indoor swimming pool, a spa and sauna, a gym, a restaurant and a cocktail bar, alongside breakfast, luggage storage and free on-site parking, though spaces for guests are limited.

Beyond the hotel, guests can find a golf course, pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, making it a workable base for exploring the area. Pets are welcome, and airport transfers can be arranged, adding a bit of flexibility for those passing through rather than settling in for long.

I’ve only used this Hotel for its swimming, sauna & jacuzzi facilities. What I can say that this place would have been decent if it didn’t reek of urine smell, what a shame!

We visited the hotel as part of a mystery tour which wasn’t expensive so we weren’t expecting anything spectacular but this certainly was a disappointment. The hotel looked like a prison from the outside and the interior wasn’t much better. The corridors and the bedroom smelt of stale cigarettes, especially in the bedroom. The beds weren’t what I’d call comfy but they weren’t horrendous, the pillows were the best part about the room 😂 the bathroom was functional but definitely not clean, strange marks on the sink and bath, and the floor was sticky, and could see handprints all over the tiles. The ventilation wasn’t great in the room but it was a 30 degree weekend so can’t blame that solely on the room. The food at the hotel wasn’t great. It was all cooked but very simple. You could tell the mushrooms on the breakfast were frozen and we were brought cold toast. The coffee machine was nice but that was about the highlight of our dining experience. The table had a huge sticky smear all over it which we asked to be wiped away and it was still there at breakfast the next morning. In the morning, there was some unsavoury characters drinking outside. All I can say is, i wouldn’t have stayed here for more than one night and I certainly wouldn’t stay there again.

Although our room was small and our bed hard, this hotel was excellent value for money. The room was spotless, limitless tea supplied. Pleasant and helpful staff. The night porter was especially patient and helpful since our key card would not work. I'd stay again.

Really lovely friendly, busy, helpful staff, reasonably priced rooms, the buffet dinner was good value simple food. The dessert range was good. The bar has a good range of reasonably priced drinks. The room was a little run down and a couple of things were broken like the toilet flush and the bathroom didn't lock. The floor was really squeaky and the windows didn't open so it was really warm, but there was a fan provided. Tea and coffee in the room. We were allowed to bring our drinks from the bar up. The bed was comfy. Didnt use the gym and pool but they looked nice. Good spacious free parking and in walking distance of other bars/pubs in Stockport. I liked the fancy old-fashioned lift.
