About Thornbank House
An indoor swimming pool sets Thornbank House apart from most guest accommodation in this corner of Dumfries and Galloway. The Stranraer property pairs that with a gym and a spa/sauna on-site, giving guests proper facilities to unwind after a day exploring the coast, rather than just a bed for the night.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks and free WiFi, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating, while practical extras such as luggage storage, laundry service, free on-site parking and airport transfers make it a straightforward base for longer stays or business trips, with concierge and business services also on hand. Pets are welcome, and a snack bar covers lighter appetites.
The location suits golfers and walkers alike, with Dunskey Golf Club near Portpatrick within reach and plenty of walking and cycling country nearby. Fishing and watersports are also close by, and pubs, restaurants and entertainment options are within easy distance for evenings out.
