About Burleigh Court Hotel
A period property set in the Cotswold countryside above Stroud, Burleigh Court Hotel has been shaped into an 18-room hotel that pairs its traditional Gloucestershire character with modern comforts. The grounds are well kept and open onto views across the valley, giving the place a settled, unhurried feel that suits both a short break and a longer stay.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks can be brought to the room, while the restaurant and bar serve meals built around a proper breakfast and dinner, both regularly singled out as a highlight of a stay. Beyond the dining room there's a wellness garden with a sauna, hot tub and pool, a genuine draw for guests wanting to unwind rather than just pass through. The hotel also runs as a wedding venue and has meeting rooms and business services, with 24 hour reception covering guests at any hour.
Staff are consistently described as attentive and professional, which shows in the day-to-day running of the place. Outside the hotel, the surrounding Cotswolds countryside is suited to walking and cycling, and there are pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out beyond the hotel's own kitchen.

What guests say
Recently spent 2 fabulous nights at Burleigh Court, it is situated in a beautiful setting, with splendid views and vistas and wonderful surrounding walks. Stroud is a favourite of ours and walking through to the Village of Minchinhampton and then on to Amberley ending at The Rodborough and on to enjoy our reward of Winston’s yummy ice cream nearby. The weather was mixed, however we still managed to get a couple of fabulous walks in, it was chilly to use outdoor spa, but in good weather I imagine would be lovely. Our room was lovely, the decor and views from double aspect windows great. Linen and towels luxurious as was the toiletries. The only negative was the mugs in room, which were very heavily stained therefore did not use, it did not bother us. Perhaps need replacing or need to go in dishwasher! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, that is for both breakfast and dinner. Also drinks from bar great, barman very helpful. Service overall was very good, staff friendly and faultless. The owner James took the time to talk to guests including us in the evening during dinner which is a first in my experience, very much appreciated. Enjoyed our drinks in this peaceful setting. We plan to return.

What a lovely find, an absolute gorgeous hotel with lovely views and grounds. We had a fab room overlooking the gardens and views very classy and traditional. Dinner was absolutely fabulous with great steaks and desserts to die for……..a lovely touch with a Happy Anniversary Message in chocolate on the plate. Staff were so kind and friendly that this place deserves more stars. If you like peace, quiet, tranquil surroundings, good food and lovely rooms this is the place for you. Thanks Andrew & Johanna

Burleigh Court is in a beautiful setting with stunning views. The access could be easier but it did make it a hidden gem. The service was discreet and unintrusive. When you needed something nothing was too much trouble. The room was a little disappointting but I was not staying my aunt was. The grout needed replacement, the amenities basic.

Had wonderful night here during heatwave. We’re worried that cosy room would be hot but it was a decent size and the fan was effective. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We experienced plumbing issues - our shower was weak and sometimes we couldn’t get hot water - and plugs by the bed would be nice. Also some of the outdoor furniture could do with a scrub. But the terrace seating was just wonderful. Spent literally hours with a drink taking in the view. The restaurant is also beautiful and we got a seat by the window with a lovely breeze. Although dinner was expensive, the overall experience was worth it. I’d recommend sharing a pudding though as the portions were generous. The pool was cold but perfect for the hot weather. It wasn’t crowded or noisy and lovely to just dip in and out of. You can even swim a few strokes. We will back at least for drinks and lunch as we are fairly local.
