About Beetlebank Farm Wild Camping

Tucked into rolling Suffolk farmland just off the A144, Beetlebank Farm Wild Camping offers a genuinely back-to-basics retreat on a small regenerative farm. Rare-breed sheep, goats and chickens potter about while you pitch beneath mature oaks and bird-filled hedgerows, with sweeping countryside views and the coast a quarter-hour's drive away. The on-site market garden supplies fresh eggs and seasonal veg, and the village of Bramfield—a mile down the lane—has a butcher's and pub for stocking up.

This is wild camping in its truest sense: well-kept composting loos but no showers, electricity or drinking-water tap, so bring your own supplies or buy bottled water on arrival. Campfires and barbecues are encouraged, making evenings peaceful and properly rural—though the lack of running water won't suit everyone. If you're after a serene, stripped-back escape where sheep bleat in the distance and modern distractions fade, Beetlebank delivers exactly that.

As a first time camper I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy it however this beautiful site has sparked my camping bug, we visited here twice in two weeks, the owners are lovely and very welcoming 😊 The pitches are very spaced out and secluded, the toilets are clean and plenty of them, you get a fire pit and picnic table on each pitch. The hammocks were an added bonus! Lovely warm showers, washing up area with clean drinking water provided. Will definitely be returning for a third time 😊

What an amazing site. The owners were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The site is set in a meadow surrounded by tress and is so peaceful and tranquil. We saw a muntjac deer wandering through the meadow on our first morning as we listened to the skylark's dawn chorus! The pitches are very well spaced out giving good privacy, and there was a good mix of sunny grassed pitches and some shaded, sheltered pitches under the trees. The facilities were clean with composting toilets, and a couple of nice wooden shower shacks. We will definitely stay there again.

We have had the pleasure of staying at Barn Owl camping a few days ago, and it was all that we could ask for in a camping trip! We went as a family of 4, and stayed in one of the bell tents, being our first time camping in the UK. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and assisted us when we needed help. Each pitch was very private and separated from each other, which we were very happy about. The view of the sky was lovely for stargazing, and we also had the chance to roast marshmallows in the evening. A truly enjoyable place where we will happily visit again!

One of the best campsites we’ve ever been to! Friendly and helpful owners. Lovely quiet site with separated pitches, ours even had hammocks! Basic facilities but very clean and enjoyed the outdoor shower shack. Thank you for our stay.
