Just returned from a 3 night stay here in one of the lodge caravans, it was very spacious, clean and tidy , nice added touch of the robes and slippers and toiletries. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, accomodating and nothing seemed to be a problem which made the stay even better. We explored the site and everything seemed well kept, it's a really nice layout and surroundings and made for a very enjoyable stay. The clubhouse is small enough that it's not chaotic in the evenings for the children to enjoy & the arcades are the same , we really enjoyed our two swim sessions, the pools were clean and well kept and the sessions weren't over booked so it was enjoyable and not too busy. We would definitely return to this caravan site in future especially as it's close to the coast ! The only down sides were that the shower temperature kept dropping out, so this was quite frustrating and that the bins were quite far away, it also seems silly to seperate all the bins in the caravan when there is only one large bin to put it all in! Hope they get this sorted for better recycling. Slightly frustrating for the more expensive booking of the lodge to have to pay for a high chair which when it arrived was quite grubby too but otherwise the stay was great..

Been an owner on carlton meres now for around 4 months. And it's a lovely quiet pitch I'm on with lake views. My caravan suites me and I've made a lot of effort to make it home away from home. I was a bit disappointed with my decking that came with the caravan as there were a lot of damaged pieces and i had to pay nearly £600 to get them replaced. I ordered a new cooker and extractor fan at a cost of £1,100 and the extractor fan was fitted after a couple of weeks but im still waiting for the cooker after 3 months. The supplier say they haven't got it in stock but it shouldn't take this long. Why cant carlton meres source it from someone else to please the customer. The laundrette is old and inadequate with machines dirty and un serviced. Three machines and three dryers is not adequate for a site of this size and there about to add more caravans. The staff who clean the rental caravans also use the laundrette and often take all three machines leaving nothing for residents and guests. That laundrette could quiet easily be updated and has room for at least 5 machines and 5 dryers. Also the gym is tiny and dated. If three people use it at the same time it's busy. The machines are out of date and both the laundrette and gym are old and grubby. I can't give 5 stars for this caravan park or even 4 but the staff are lovely and my neighbours are really nice also. It's a shame the things I've mentioned ruin my rating for if the things I've mentioned were addressed i could quiet easily give 5 stars.

We had a 4 night stay during the week. The van was clean & tidy as was the rest of the park. As we are out most of the day and cook our evening meal in the van on our return, I cannot advise on what the on-site facilities are like. There are two small lakes - Upper and Lower on the Park and I highly recommend walking round both. It only takes around 30 mins to comlete this peaceful and calming stroll and sets you up for a relaxing evening. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a weekend that we spent in a 3 bedroom caravan with our family. The reason I have given this resort 1 star is because the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our first complaint was the floor in the lounge and bedrooms were covered in long dog hairs. The Freezer was broken so we lost all the freezer meals we had taken with us. Lights broken in the kitchen. Locks broken on both bathroom doors. My 7 year old granddaughter got locked in which was very scary for her. We had to use a coin to get her out. The plates, saucepans and utensils were very dirty and all had to be washed before we could use them. We then found so much dust and dog hairs on the bedside cabinets in all bedrooms. It was so obvious this caravan had not been cleaned in a long time. We did complain and Sammi was very nice and helpful. She sent a cleaner who could only clean the lounge carpets properly. She did clean around the beds but they were still filthy underneath. The maintenance man came, but couldn't do anything about the freezer or lights. He tried to repair the bathroom door. He had to take the locking barrel from one door to put in the other. There was mould in the sealant of the shower. We were given a voucher to use in the restaurant but this only covered the food we had lost. I would certainly not recommend this camp to anyone.
