About Orchard Wild Camping
Looking for a back-to-basics getaway? Orchard Wild Camping lives up to its name with proudly off-grid pitches near Saxmundham, about 15 minutes from both Aldeburgh and Southwold. Each pitch comes with a firepit for toasty evenings, while a bowser provides washing water (bring your own drinking water, though your first bottle's included). The solar shower is there if you're feeling brave on cloudier days.
With just a handful of pitches, this is peaceful wild camping with plenty of space and a strong focus on simplicity. You're five minutes from Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Landscape, ideal for coastal walks and wildlife spotting, and within easy reach of RSPB Minsmere, Africa Alive, and the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary.
It's a straightforward, nature-focused stay where campfires crackle and the extras are deliberately minimal—perfect if you want to unplug properly without venturing too far from civilisation.

What visitors say
Lovely ‘wild’ campsite, surrounded by trees and scrub. Secluded pitch with hammock and table. Basic toilet and shower, all that is needed. Although couldn’t find any washing up facilities. Unfortunately the peace and quiet was spoiled by someone playing music!

We had a lovely stay this weekend at this immaculate campsite. The pitches are large, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The location is stunning—calm and scenic, perfect for a relaxing break. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more special. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

Fantastic back to basic campsite large well screen pitches fire pits great shower shack parking by pitch . Had a lovely 4 nights here . nice to get back to relaxed camping . Ideal for just chilling among the trees . Yes you can hear the A12 but it goes quiet at night . The facilities are basic 2 composting portaloo toilets and a gas shower which was adequate for me the facilities are clean and logs can be bought on site via an honesty box . Overall a fantastic old skool camping experience. I booked again when I got home 😊
