About Three Cliffs Bay Caravan and Camping Site

Three Cliffs Bay occupies what may be the finest campsite position in Wales. The park sits on the headland at Penmaen, and front-row pitches look straight down onto the limestone arch, winding Pennard Pill and ruined castle that frame this legendary stretch of coast. A path through the dunes drops you onto the sand in ten minutes.

This family-run site has been developed carefully over decades. Touring pitches come with hookup, picnic table, drinking water tap and fire pit—unusual and genuinely valued on summer evenings. Luxury glamping tents sleep five for those wanting the view without the canvas, and Bistro 1948 serves breakfast through to early evening when cooking feels less appealing. Facilities are modern and spotless: heated shower blocks, laundry, essentials shop. Dogs welcome.

The catch is popularity. The park releases dates a full year ahead and prime pitches disappear within days, so early planning and date flexibility are non-negotiable if you want that outlook. The Wales Coast Path runs right past the entrance, putting Pennard, Southgate, Oxwich and Pobbles Bay all within walking distance.

FIVE STARS. The facilities are EXCELLENT!! Dog and Child friendly campsite with a play area / pitch for children and a fenced off dog park with mini aglitiy course! The showers are some of the best if experienced in a campsite too, cleaned regularly. The shop has all your camping nessessities and also does great coffee. I recommend the giant toasted teacake with jam and butter 😁 The beach is about 15min walk (quickest route) but there are a few other routes which are less steep!

We have been camping for over 30 years and have stayed at many campsites across the UK, so we feel we have a good benchmark when it comes to what makes a great camping experience. There are certainly some positives about Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park. The location and scenery are absolutely stunning, with easy access to one of the most beautiful coastal areas in the UK. The toilet and shower facilities were exceptionally clean and very well maintained throughout our stay, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives for us. While the site does enforce a 10pm noise curfew and most campers respected it, this is not what we would describe as a peaceful campsite. There were large numbers of families and children, and noise levels throughout the day and evening were significant. On several occasions footballs landed in or struck our tent, which became frustrating. Our biggest concern was the apparent inconsistency regarding group bookings. The campsite states that same-sex and mixed-sex group bookings are not permitted, which was one of the reasons we chose this site. However, during our stay we counted one group of around 24 people consisting of both adults and children, along with at least two other groups nearby of approximately 10–12 people each. These groups generated a considerable amount of noise and activity around our pitch. The noise became so intrusive that we seriously considered leaving a day early. If you’re looking for a lively, family-oriented campsite, this may suit you well. However, if you’re seeking a quieter, more relaxing camping experience, particularly as experienced campers looking to enjoy the surroundings in peace, this site may not be the best choice. Regrettably, despite the beautiful location and excellent facilities, we won’t be returning.

We had a fantastic stay at Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park over the May bank holiday weekend. Such a beautiful, well-kept site and incredibly dog-friendly, which was perfect for us. We stayed on plot 44, which was a great size with hedgerow on three sides for a bit of privacy, plus electric hook-up and a water tap—everything we needed. We also ordered one of the weekend hampers, which was a lovely touch, full of great quality produce, including meats from a local butchers, Tuckers. Honestly, the sausages were some of the best we’ve had! The on-site bistro was another highlight, the pizzas are definitely worth trying and the coffee was good. The communal toilet and shower facilities were always clean and very well maintained, which makes such a difference on a campsite. And the beach just over the cliff is absolutely stunning. The dogs were in their element and it really made the trip. A lovely, relaxed atmosphere all round. All of the staff were really friendly and super helpful. We’ll definitely be returning!

We had 2 nights here in our campervan and loved our stay. The staff where so friendly and helpful as we move from 2 pitches. The facilities where excellent, clean, hot showers, great space and not far away. The views of three cliff bay is beautiful, lovely walk to the castle and beach. Shop is well stocked and the cafe. We had food at one night in the Gowers inn 2 min drive. The dog feild is perfect to let off our dogs for a run which is safe also. Highly recommend. We will be back.
