Bwthyn Y Bugail
Swansea
The Gower Peninsula's beaches lie 15 miles south, while Mynydd y Gwair rises to the north with views across to the Brecon Beacons. A country pub and restaurant are 1½ miles away, and Lliw Reservoir sits within walking distance. Bwthyn Y Bugail occupies its own corner of a 310-acre working farm, surrounded by open farmland and woodland shared with the owner—a landscape that regularly draws peregrines, kestrels and red kites.
This early-19th-century shepherd's cottage has been restored to modern standards while keeping its character. The ground floor holds a living and dining space with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen equipped for real cooking, and a shower room, all accessible without steps. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in) and the other two singles (3ft). The property sleeps four. Underfloor heating warms the ground floor; oil central heating covers the rest. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial logs for the stove.
A courtyard with patio, garden furniture and a BBQ faces the kitchen's bi-fold doors. You can park two cars on site and store bikes. The natural water supply comes from a spring. No smoking is permitted.
