The Gower peninsula's thirty-plus beaches and coves lie within twenty minutes' drive of Swallow Cottage, making this a practical base for exploring Wales's coastline. Gowerton village is moments away on foot, with shops, pubs, restaurants and a bakery. Cycle paths run from nearby—mostly flat, car-free routes heading towards Mumbles—and Gower Golf Club is five minutes off. For those who prefer to stay close, forest walks and bridleways start from the doorstep.
Swallow Cottage is set on three-quarters of an acre of garden, converted from a 17th-century farm's milking barn. The entire property sits on one level: two bedrooms (a double and a twin), a bathroom with bath and shower, and an open-plan living space combining lounge, dining area and kitchen. A conservatory overlooks the garden. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and microwave. A 50-inch smart TV, parking for two cars, and wifi are provided; essentials like electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The garden is lawned and enclosed.
One well-behaved pet can stay free. Smoking is not permitted inside. The property suits families or small groups wanting countryside access without isolation—everything needed is within reach, but you're on a working farm rather than in a town.

We have just returned from a midweek break at Swallow Cottage, it was so comfortable, well equipped , and impeccably clean, in a wonderfully peaceful farm setting it was ideal. The owners are there if you need them but we didn’t as everything was explained, written down, appliance instructions etc. dog friendly would highly recommend as it’s near enough to shops but a hidden rural gem.

Loved staying here. Very comfortable, peaceful and quiet. The conservatory is a bonus. The big smart tv is great, especially if you have a rainy day. A great location for getting out and about. Love the goats and Saska. Highly recommend staying here. On the edge of the Gower peninsula, Swallow Cottage boasts everything you need for a relaxing break. The accommodation is well laid out with two bedrooms, an open plan L-shaped living space, bathroom, and conservatory. The spacious living room, kitchen/diner is perfect for family time, whether it’s enjoying a meal together. Afterwards, you can relax in the cosy conservatory and enjoy some quiet time overlooking the garden and the countryside.

What a find! Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to all local amenities that access is not a problem - the takeaways in the local village all deliver. It normally takes us a few days to unwind on holiday, but as soon as we arrived, we knew we'd found just what we needed! A chilled glass of wine and a Welsh cake were thoughtful additions, and perfect to take out onto the deck and just chill, gazing out over views of the open countryside. No light pollution meant the star gazing was incredible and the peace and tranquility were only interrupted by owls and bats. Heidi and Richard are only a short walk across the courtyard and apart from a friendly welcome and a hello in passing, they did not intrude. The cottage is beautifully presented, clean and spacious - we felt completely at home and yet it really felt like a holiday. A perfect blend of smart but comfortable - enough to make you feel special but not so much that you'd mind leaving your flip flops in the porch or your wetsuit in the conservatory. We really loved our stay here and will definitely be back 😊
