About Norton House Hotel & Spa

Norton House is a Georgian building set back from the seafront in the Norton area of Mumbles, giving it a quieter, more countrified feel than hotels directly on the promenade while still keeping the beach and pier within a short walk. The building's period features have been kept alongside a more contemporary spa and treatment rooms added to the rear.

Rooms are traditionally furnished, several with views over the surrounding gardens, and the on-site restaurant draws on local Welsh produce for a menu aimed as much at destination diners as hotel guests. The spa, with pool, sauna and treatment rooms, is a genuine draw for visitors looking to combine a Gower walking break with some downtime.

Its Mumbles setting puts Oystermouth Castle, the pier and the start of the coast path all within easy reach, making it a practical base for exploring the bay without needing to drive into Swansea for every outing.

We have just had the most amazing weekend at this lovely hotel. We held a 70th birthday party here with at least half the guests staying in the hotel. The venue is a perfect location and the facilities to hold a party are excellent. Great patio, to chill outside, separate room for the dance floor connecting to a room for sitting and of course the lounge by the bar. All rooms flow into each other, so no one feels they are not part of the party. The bbq was outstanding, so much choice. As were the canapés we had as guests arrived. The best part, the staff. They are amazing, can’t do enough for you. Thank you to Nicki for helping us arrange the event and Alan for being so attentive on the evening making sure everything was going smoothly.

We held our wedding at Norton House on 28th March 2026, and it was truly perfect in every way. The venue is situated in a stunning part of Wales. The interior is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. From the waiters and waitresses to the manager, the entire staff were wonderful. They ensured everything ran smoothly without a single hitch and kept my wife fully updated throughout the booking process. The food was, without doubt, the best we have ever experienced — our highest compliments to the chef! A special shout-out to Nicki, who was absolutely amazing and a true credit to your fabulous hotel. We have already booked our next visit and plan to return very soon for a family meal. Norton House will definitely become a permanent fixture in our lives. Thank you so much to everyone who played a part in making our day so special. Love, Mr & Mrs Thompson

We had booked a superior room. It was very spacious, well-furnished, and featured a separate seating area. However, the sleeping area and bathroom lacked windows, natural light, and fresh air. We couldn't open anything at night because the small hopper window in the living area was stuck, and the patio doors couldn't be tilted open. The room was heavily perfumed, which only increased the need for fresh air. This windowvproblem was resolved immediately after we reported it. There was a lot of black mold in the bathroom grout and at the bottom of the sliding door. cleanliness must be better (stains in rug). No power outlet for a shaver or hairdryer in the bathroom. Using the sink or shower created a lot of noise in the room—and not just when we did it ourselves, but also when the neighbors used warm water!

Recently attended a wedding here and I just had to leave a review. Beautiful venue for the more intimate wedding. The staff were friendly and worked efficiently but I must mention the food. It was absolutely incredible. The canapes, wedding breakfast and the buffet were all to a very high standard. I will absolutely be returning for that alone. Thank you.
