The hotel was as great looking as in the photos, with ample parking outside. Checking in was quick and the receptionist was polite and friendly. We had a room on the shady side of the hotel so it was very cool in spite of the heat outside, but there was air conditioning if needed. The room was compact, nicely decorated and had enough room for two people. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast had a good selection and was very tasty. We had a walk around the extensive grounds after breakfast. All in all a great stay.

Staff are really lovely and super helpful. Very professional. Jemma (with a J :-)) is very friendly and honest. Had to down grade room on arrival as air cons not working in lots of the rooms. We were ok with this as we appreciated the honesty before suffering a night in the 30's. The lift has no lights working so a few battery operated ones stuck up in it. We went for a nice walk around the grounds, which are really nice, but came across broken beds, mattresses and old furniture dumped on view from the gardens. It's a gorgeous old building but I think it's in need of more maintenance. The rooms were clean and tidy but very tired and old odd style furniture. Quite freshly painted though I believe. The tap in the bathroom wouldn't turn off properly without leaking on the floor and the shower curtain over the bath was in need of replacement as it was orange with scale and mould around the bottom. This all said it was a nice place but I wouldn't stay so many nights on another stay due to it's shabby state.

Great for a laid-back break ! Surrounded by forestry, yet not far from Swindon, the Cotswolds, and other attractions. Staff very nice and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We stayed for four nights but would have liked longer. Will definitely visit again !

We had a traditional afternoon tea in a relaxed atmosphere of the conservatory, overlooking Stanton Park. All the staff were pleasant & friendly. serving the delicious tea of sandwiches, cakes & scones which was well presented. We saw people came from their walk around Stanton Park to enjoy a drink. I feel Stanton House should advertise itself more as relaxed venue both indoor and outdoor (dog friendly) venue. Great to pop in for a hot or cold drink if visiting the park. We were pleasantly surprised at their prices which compared to pubs & coffee shops.
