About The Kings Arms
Step into one of the 14 rooms at The Kings Arms and you'll find an en-suite bathroom, space for the family if needed, and the option of drinks brought straight to your room. It's a straightforward, comfortable setup rather than anything showy, with free WiFi throughout and 24 hour reception for whenever you arrive.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar serve breakfast each morning and food through the day, and on weekend nights there's often live music that brings a livelier crowd through the pub. Staff are generally friendly and quick to help, though standards of service have been known to slip at busier times.
The hotel sits on Wood Street in Swindon's Old Town, within reach of nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment, and there's a golf course not far away for those wanting to fill a free afternoon. Free on-site parking makes it an easy stop for drivers passing through Wiltshire.

My Mum booked a family birthday meal for 6 people for my dads 79th birthday , the Sunday lunch was outstanding , the best we d had for ages , excellent quality , fabulous chef serving , table service was ok but all very young staff , inexperienced but friendly , my mum bless her who has early onset dementia saw advertised the 2 courses for £15 on the Swindon Link page , on arrival she asked the waitress if this was still correct, she was advised it was as per the board now £18 and the website hadn’t been updated , we all heard my mum double check the two courses for £18. On receipt of the bill , the four desserts that were ordered had been charged, my mum got very upset and confused as had taken out her pension money to treat her family . Due to not wanting to make a fuss and to calm her down , I advised I would email the manager the following day as he had left the restaurant earlier. I did indeed email and explain the situation and was politely told nothing they could do and it’s on a board saying £18 clearly , advising also that my mum had obviously looked on the incorrect website and they don’t take responsibility to the website advertising . I felt very sad and disappointed with the non plus response received with zero respect to a beautiful kind lady , my mum who worried for days that she didn’t have enough money to pay the bill. Sad just very sad , sorry management we won’t be back and won’t be recommending for your non empathetic thought process.

A very enjoyable stay. Great staff, awesome breakfast, good price and comfortable room. Friday night is party night with music until 02:00, it was great fun, just be aware if you want a quiet night.

Both a hotel and a pub, but the pub side is rather downplayed. Even though we stayed here we never had a pint so I can't comment on the quality of the cask ale, but there are quite a few pubs selling a variety of cask ales within 100 yards. Something I found strange for what looks a bit like a pub is that the bar is emptied and locked up by 10 PM. Hotel guests after this time have to traipse round the back, dark with trip hazards, and let themselves in through the back door. Breakfast was OK, but with limited choice and needs to be ordered the night before.

We had our works Christmas festive lunch at The Kings, Wood St, and it was amazing! A massive group of us, 45 to cater for & the service was just perfect. We had the Ballroom & the tables were beautifully set out with Christmas music playing. The team worked so hard to serve us & the attention to detail was brilliant. The food was absolutely beautiful, first class Chef’s!! Turkey perfect, vegetables just right, everything was just great. They even boxed up food to take so it wasn’t wasted. Thank you team, we had the best afternoon with you! Highly recommend!!
