The B&B sits in Tarbert, Argyll and Bute, with free on-site parking and 24 hour reception, so arrival times are flexible. Airport transfers can be arranged, and staff will store luggage if you arrive before rooms are ready or need to leave bags after checkout. There's a pub, bar and restaurant nearby for evening meals, so you're not tied to eating in.
The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with fishing and horse riding also on offer nearby, and the Machrie Moor Standing Stones give history and prehistory enthusiasts a reason to explore further afield. I visited Glenbarr to learn more about the history of the MacAlister Clan, and the local people were very kind and helpful. The House was a comfortable place to stay with a friendly staff, and I felt well looked after while I was there.

My wife and I had a superb one night stay in a lovely room. The staff were most friendly and welcoming and it was a great breakfast in the morning. Superb shop, garden centre and cafe are next door. Highly recommended.

Very easy to find with SatNav, & the keys were left out for our late arrival. The room was very clean, with fresh decor & comfortable furnishings and bed. The pillows were perfect for us with a reasonable sized TV, plenty sockets for our chargers, and bedside lighting. The shower is large enough to fit two comfortably, and again, the bathroom was spotless. The shop & cafe next door is where you go for breakfast (which is included in the price), for cereals, fruit juice & hot filled rolls. A cooked breakfast is not included, however, given the price, it’s great value to have something to start your day. The staff we spoke to were very helpful, and we will definitely stay here again when we return.

Delightful rooms w/ ensuite bathrooms and a common kitchen/living room area. Not staffed after 2pm, but self-checkin is available with keyed front door entry and room key pick-up. Look out for an email with instructions. Use instagram for after-hours support.
