Campbeltown's whisky distilleries and museum lie 10 miles away, and the Machrihanish Bird Observatory at Gauldrons Beach is nearby for spotting migratory birds. Horse riding is available within four miles if you want to explore the Kintyre Peninsula on horseback. The cottage itself sits just 10 yards from the sea on the west coast, close enough to wake to the sound of waves and watch seals from the shore most days—dolphins pass through occasionally too.
Shore Cottage is a detached stone house sleeping six across three bedrooms: a double with ensuite on the first floor, and downstairs a double room with two singles, plus a third single bedroom with a pull-out bed. There is one bathroom with bath and shower cubicle. The ground floor holds a living room with woodburner and television, and a kitchen equipped for full self-catering, with dishwasher and tumble dryer among other appliances. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The enclosed garden runs down to the shore with a patio and furniture; parking is available for three cars on site. One pet stays free. No smoking inside.
The property suits families and groups wanting a base for exploring the coast and islands, or simply a quiet retreat by the sea. Horse stabling is available by arrangement with the owner.
