Wedding! Just want to say a huge Thank You to all the staff at The Swan for making our wedding day so memorable. I stayed for 2 nights in a beautiful bedroom and most of our 44 guests stayed on the night of the wedding. Myself and our daughters got ready in the family room together, and the staff really looked after us all day. The Tarporley events room looked incredible on the wedding day, and our photos look amazing. The food was superb, and I cannot recommend the sticky toffee pudding highly enough. If you are looking for an intimate venue for your celebration the the Swan is perfect. Special mention to Laura the events coordinator, she really went the extra mile to make our day special, but all the staff were really wonderful.

Had a family meal at The Swan. Food was hot, tasty and plenty of choice. Prices were fair for quality food which was better than your average pub food. Really like it that local producers supply the hostelry. The Swan has a welcome feel when you enter and we were greeted and seated quickly. On site you can buy produce from local suppliers, for example bread from local bakery. The Swan bake lovely cakes, which you can buy and take home. Enjoyed the Swan and will return.

My daughter and I had the rare opportunity to enjoy dinner together, just the two of us. We could have chosen anywhere, but decided to visit The Swan, making a 10-mile journey from home. We have no complaints about the food or the service from the waiting staff, who were both friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our experience was spoiled by the handling of the bill. We were charged £5 for what was described as a Caesar salad, despite my daughter specifically requesting "just lettuce" and receiving exactly that – a small portion of lettuce with none of the usual Caesar salad ingredients. She also commented that it did not appear particularly fresh. When I queried the charge, the waitress immediately reduced it to £2.50, which I appreciated, but I still felt was excessive for a small amount of plain lettuce. I therefore asked to speak to someone more senior. The gentleman who came over, whom I assumed was the manager, seemed reluctant to discuss the matter. When he asked what I felt was a reasonable charge, I suggested £1. He refused, stating that the restaurant had provided what we requested and that £2.50 was the price. I accepted this but asked for the service charge to be removed. His response was rude and sarcastic, and his attitude left a very poor impression. What should have been a simple discussion about a minor charge became an unpleasant experience due to the way it was handled. The two waitresses provided excellent service throughout, but the poor customer service from the manager means I would think twice before returning.
