About Days Inn Taunton

Walk into a room at Days Inn Taunton and you'll find straightforward, comfortable basics rather than frills: a flat-screen television, air conditioning and, in some rooms, drinks laid on. Family and accessible rooms are available across the hotel's two floors, and there's a lift for those who'd rather skip the stairs. It's a practical base rather than a destination in itself, which suits its setting well.

That setting is Taunton Deane Motorway Service on the M5, making this an easy stop for anyone travelling through Somerset rather than a countryside retreat. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar for meals without needing to go anywhere, plus breakfast, a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for a change of scene. Meeting rooms are available for those combining business with the journey, and there's a nearby restaurant option too if you fancy a change.

Pets are welcome, and free on-site parking plus free WiFi are included as standard, with an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it. Luggage storage and laundry service round out the practical offer. It won't suit those after character or views, but as a low-key overnight stop with easy road access to Taunton and the wider Somerset area, it does the job it sets out to do.

We had booked the wrong dates. Shannon on reception was absolutely amazing. She is super friendly, professional and efficient. She went out of her way to make us so comfortable whilst she got everything sorted out for us. Eventually we were able to change our dates from 31st to today, with no charge. It had been an error on our part, but she took away any embarrassment by reassuring us it was an easy mistake to make. She chatted to us and made us feel so welcome whilst the formalities of the changes were managed. She is a fantastic ambassador for this establishment. We were given the keys to our room and was so pleasantly surprised by the size, comfort and cleanliness. This is probably the best value for money room I've ever slept in. It's not a 5 star hotel, but for the money paid, it gets a 5 star review from me and we'll definitely stay again.

I stayed at the “Days Inn” for a single night on Thursday, June 4th, and I have never been made to feel so incredibly unwelcome in my 32 years of life. From the moment I approached the front desk, the female attendant was noticeably cold and outright rude. Recognizing the tense energy, I tried to lighten the mood with some basic, friendly chit-chat, asking how her day was going. She completely shut it down. It felt incredibly personal, as if she had an immediate, unexplained issue with me. To top off the check-in experience, instead of handing me my room key or placing it on the counter, she literally tossed it at me. Later in the evening, I left the hotel and ran into her again in a narrow hallway near my room upon my return. Instead of a standard professional acknowledgement, she walked right past me, completely avoiding eye contact and acting as if I didn't exist. There was something seriously off about her behavior. Guests should never be made to feel this uncomfortable or alienated when they are just trying to go about their day. Management seriously needs to look into the staff working the desk on Thursday evening, because this level of hostility is unacceptable.

PM goes walking

Ok, so after.a 5hour drive I wasn’t expecting anything with this place. All I wanted was a comfy bed and a clean room and something to eat. Arrived around 7.45pm. Lucky for me there was someone at reception. He was friendly and helpful and engaged in some friendly conversation. Anyway room was clean and the bed was comfy. So thank you Days inn. Nipped next door ..not much choice apart from Maccy D, a coffee place and a WHAMITH. Opted for MacD. Oh one thing I forgot to say. The room had coffee and tea. 10/10 for the coffee though. That was a great and kicked started my day Overall this place was ok. No complaints and was great if you just want to get your head down for the night. No frills …apart from you can buy alcohol and bits from reception for your room.👍🏽 Thank again. Oh thanks for the evening sunset. That was magical ❤️

Staff were very accommodating in letting us check in to our room after a very long flight which we did at 3am. This was a big plus, however... The room itself is pretty no frills. (We paid £78 for the one night). The bed was not comfy at all, and a new matress would not got a miss. Hard and springy, so not great for your back. We didn't expect 5 star standard of course, but, this 'days inn' could do with some investment in getting it up to standard in my opinion. In future if you need to get your head down. Pay the 24 hour parking charge in the services and you'll have a comfier sleep in the car, while being cheaper, as it was not worth the money for that one night's stay.
