Port View Cottage

Shaldon village sits within easy reach of several worthwhile destinations. The sandy beach is a pleasant walk away along the sea wall, and from there a historic ferry crosses to Teignmouth every fifteen minutes in high season, where water sports are on offer. The village itself has restaurants, pubs, and a small animal zoo. Dartmoor National Park is a short drive inland, with opportunities for hiking and exploring valleys and tors. Teignmouth and Exeter both lie nearby for cultural activities and seafront walks.

Port View Cottage is a single-bedroom property sleeping two, set on the ground floor with a living and dining room, kitchen, and shower room. French doors from the living area open onto a terrace overlooking the estuary and foreshore. The bedroom has a super king bed. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered. A wood burner provides additional warmth. One dog stays free.

The location is the main draw: at low tide you can watch birds feeding on the shellfish beds just offshore, and when it is warm enough and the tide is high, you can swim from the garden wall. The front garden has sitting-out space and furniture for breakfast overlooking the water. Shaldon itself is only a few minutes' walk away for shops and the village green. No smoking inside.
