Tarnshade Cottage
Tendring
Tarnshade Cottage sits in a quiet village within reach of both countryside and the coast. The property began life as part of a 15th-century priory complex—the gatehouse and east range—and retains the carved stonework, vaulted ceilings and timber framework of that era. Inside, those historic bones meet contemporary design: the spaces are generous and warm, with high-end finishes and modern comfort throughout.
Four bedrooms and three bathrooms accommodate eight guests. The rooms are designed to feel spacious rather than cramped, with private sleeping suites and relaxed communal areas for gathering. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; wifi is available throughout. The kitchen is equipped for cooking from scratch, and the whole property is yours alone—no other guests, no shared facilities.
The location suits families and groups wanting both heritage atmosphere and easy access to the shoreline and surrounding countryside. No smoking inside.
