Andover's high street and narrow lanes draw visitors for its Saxon heritage, but the town also serves as a base for far-flung days out. Thruxton Motorsport Centre hosts British Touring Cars and Superbikes racing; the Museum of Army Flying and Museum of the Iron Age are within reach on foot; Stonehenge, Woodhenge and the Bombay Sapphire distillery make for straightforward drives. Families find Paultons Park, Peppa Pig World, Hawk Conservancy and Finkley Down Farm nearby, while Motisfont National Trust House and Leckford Estate's riverside gardens suit a gentler outing. Most appealingly, the Test Way walking trail is easily accessible from the apartment, threading through the North Wessex Downs.

6 Eastgate occupies the first floor of a converted townhouse. The open-plan living space combines a sitting area with a sofa bed, dining table and kitchen in one room, letting you cook and socialise together. The bedroom contains two 3ft single beds on a zip-and-link frame, which can be pushed together as a double. You have a separate bathroom with bath and shower cubicle. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included; there is private parking for one car on site. No smoking inside.
