Little Trout

Test Valley

View on Google Maps

The Wallops—three villages strung along Hampshire's Test Valley and named in the Domesday Book—sit at the heart of fishing country. Trout streams run through the area, footpaths cross open land ideal for walking, and the village of Nether Wallop itself has unexpected cultural pedigree: it hosted the first Nether Wallop International Arts Festival in 1984, which later inspired Comic Relief. Little Trout occupies a converted wing of a 17th-century building with its own deep history—it operated as The Trout Inn, then a tea room, and in the late 1800s cricket bats made from local willow were crafted and sold here, some famously to W.G. Grace.

The whole ground floor belongs to you: a sitting room with Freeview TV, a kitchen and dining space with a full range of appliances including dishwasher and coffee machine, a utility room with washer-dryer, one bedroom with a super king bed, and a shower room. Essentials like electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. There is parking for one car on site, and a small front garden with seating. One well-behaved dog can stay free of charge, and a footpath runs directly behind the cottage for walks in the surrounding countryside.

No smoking inside. Check in is after 16:00 and checkout before 10:00.
