The Tank House

Couples seeking quietness will find The Tank House on a working farm in rural Hampshire, between Winchester and Salisbury. This detached conversion started life as a water tank and now comprises one bedroom and one bathroom, privately yours for the duration of your stay. A double bed (4ft 6in) and an ensuite shower are upstairs; downstairs is a single open-plan space combining living, dining and kitchen areas. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. Two parking spaces sit on the grounds, with a garden and sitting-out area to use as you wish.

The kitchen handles proper cooking—electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge—and there's a washing machine if you need it. A travel cot and highchair are available if required. Two steps lead to the entrance. Nether Wallop village itself has a river-side spot good for picnics. Stockbridge, four miles away, has independent shops and cafes along its High Street. Winchester's cathedral and city centre lie within reach, as do Salisbury cathedral, Danebury Iron Age Hillfort, the Hawk Conservancy Trust's bird displays, and Houghton Lodge gardens. No smoking indoors.
