Broadstairs sits on Kent's coast with Viking Bay as its focal point – a sweep of sand that draws families and seaside enthusiasts year-round. Bay Cottage is moments from the beach, positioned among independent shops and cafés in the town itself. The property dates to the 18th century and retains period character: exposed beams, an open fireplace in the living room, and the kind of layout that suits groups travelling together rather than those seeking hotel-like separation.
Three bedrooms across two storeys sleep six: two king beds and one twin arrangement. The first floor holds the main bathroom with bath and shower; the second-floor king includes an ensuite with shower. Downstairs, a kitchen equipped for self-catering has a gas hob and oven, dishwasher, and fridge-freezer. An enclosed courtyard garden at the back offers outdoor seating and space to sit out. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The property does not allow smoking, and one well-behaved pet is welcome.
Access involves a steep spiral staircase between floors, which limits suitability for guests with mobility difficulties. On-road parking is available, with a public car park nearby. The Palace Cinema and Viking Bay itself are close enough to walk to; beyond these, Broadstairs offers the standard seaside mix of pubs, chip shops and amusement arcades alongside quieter stretches of coast.

Myself and my friend Sharon spent 2 nights, 3 days in Sandpiper Cottage, Broadstairs, last weekend . 16th August. It was a wonderful week. Great communication from the hosts from the start, easy booking, and easy to find and access. Lots of very useful information was given, including to park on the Esplanade and walk down, 5 minute walk. You can also park right by the cottages, if you have lots to unload. We didn't, so simply walked down from the Esplanade, very close. The cottage was immaculate, pretty, quirky and full of lovely little touches from the hosts. They seemed to have thought of everything. Kitchen was very well equipped, bathrooms and bedrooms spotless and very comfortable beds. It was an absolute delight to stay here and made our mini break even better. The stairs in this cottage are challenging, however we knew that in advance, as it's in the literature online. But we found that added to the character of the place. Sharon and I would highly recommend Sandpiper Cottage and these hosts. Excellent service and big shout out to Ryan for getting us in !. He was a great help. 100 % recommend and we will definitely back. Thank you 😊

My husband and I stayed at Fagin's Den in Broadstairs in April 2025. We had a wonderful time in Beverley and Phil's amazing fisherman's cottage which is full of delightful Dickensian details. There are prints on the walls of various characters from Dickens' novels and the rooms are full of quirky and fascinating objects from the Victorian period. So much thought has gone into making this a home which anyone will love, but if you're a Dickens fan, you will adore! It's a short stroll to the sea front and to the Charles Dickens Museum and there are lots of places to eat a 5 minute walk away. Beverley and Phil also went the extra mile and set up a treasure hunt for us - Dickens themed! - with clues to solve. This led us up and down and all around the cottage, searching through Dickens' novels, weighing a bag of meal in the kitchen, hunting for hidden hideaways. It was great fun! For a holiday home with a difference, you couldn't do better than the fabulous Fagin's Den in charming Broadstairs!

I stayed at Fagins den with my daughters, they had so much fun playing the scavenger hunt and dressing up. Games are provided aswell. It was quiet at night time, we went for a evening walk along the beach that is 3 minutes away. It was beautiful. The beds were comfy and it really felt like we were in fagins den. I would recommend 100% for a little short but very satisfying holiday in beautiful Broadstairs 😍
