About Premier inn Thurso
Thurso's railway station and town centre are within easy reach of Premier Inn Thurso, making it a practical stop for anyone heading onward to catch the Orkney ferries or exploring the far north coast. Walking areas, fishing spots and watersports are all nearby, and the surrounding pubs, bars and restaurants give plenty of choice for evenings out beyond the hotel itself.
The hotel has 85 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and drinks available in room. There's a lift for those who need it and 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals and departures. On site, guests can eat at the restaurant or have a drink in the bar, with breakfast also served at the property.
Practical extras include free on-site parking with ample spaces, an electric vehicle charge point, and a laundry service for longer stays or those breaking up a longer journey north. It's a straightforward, comfortable base rather than a destination in itself, well suited to travellers using Thurso as a gateway rather than a place to linger.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its good food, including breakfast and dinner, and for rooms featuring good air conditioning. The friendly and attentive staff and the convenient location near the train station and town center are also frequently highlighted.
Some reviews mention the service can be inefficient.
