What guests say
Location was very good, the beds although big were very hard and uncomfortable. My main compliant is the lack of any care the hotel have with guests belongings and room security. We went out for the day, and on our return we noticed my partners glasses were missing, the room had been cleaned (Bed made and the hand towel changed) we didn't expect a room clean on the first night! I spoke to the front desk who said that staff would only usually remove towels that are on the floor, we left a towel next to the sink (There's no towel ring and oddly no shower door!) my partner left her glasses on them when she put in her contact lenses, they moved only that towel and took the glasses Or broke them and disposed of them! They said they would have a look through the laundry first thing. Low and behold, I go down first thing they haven't looked yet, but would take a look now, I waited around, nope no sign. They didn't even say if they do the laundry themselves, or if they have a laundry pick up service, so it may have left the hotel way before they even looked! I was asked to email the query to a manager and they would get back to me in a few days! the manager's response was basically we had a bit of a look, didn't see them, it your responsibility as you left items in your room, here's a free upgrade for your next stay! So now Hilton apparently say don't leave anything in your room, your luggage, clothes etc as we cant ensure anything will be there when you return, so I guess don't stay at Hilton if you have anything you cant carry with you! Looking at other reviews this isn't the first time items get removed from rooms, and the management don't do a thing about it. Not what I expect from a Hilton, never going back

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First time visiting Torquay - we’ve come from Manchester. Such a wonderful hotel experience! The room was stunning—spotless, spacious, and very well presented. The bed was super comfy, making it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was lovely too, with plenty of tasty options to choose from. What really stood out was the warm and friendly welcome. The staff made me feel comfortable right away with their genuine smiles and kindness. I’d happily return and highly recommend this hotel. I will come again!

Overall, I would rate this hotel 4 stars. The room itself was nice, and the bathroom in particular stood out as lovely and very clean. Cleanliness throughout the hotel seemed to be maintained to a high standard, which made for a comfortable stay in that regard. Breakfast was also fantastic, with a good selection and quality of food that I really enjoyed. However, there were a few issues that affected the overall experience. On the first morning at breakfast, I overheard the manager apologising to other guests regarding an unclean room and what sounded like a poor start to their stay. On the second morning, another situation unfolded where a guest was complaining about food allergies. The manager attempted to resolve the issue in front of other diners, which led to a member of staff being called into the office. While it’s good that issues were being addressed, it did create a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere for other guests. Sleep quality was also not ideal. I found myself in and out of sleep due to uncomfortable pillows, and the duvet was not thick enough for my liking. The mattress was also not particularly comfortable, which made it harder to fully rest. In summary, the hotel has many positives, especially in terms of cleanliness, the quality of the room, and the excellent breakfast. However, improvements in guest issue handling and bedding comfort would make a noticeable difference to the overall experience.
