🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Heale Cottage

Photo: Heale Cottage

Heale Cottage comes with everything you need for a self-catering break. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave, so preparing meals is straightforward. A wood-burning stove heats the ground floor living room, where you'll find a Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime access, DVD player, books and games. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs are all provided. Upstairs are a kingsize bedroom and a second bedroom with bunks; the single bathroom has a bath with shower over. A highchair and stairgate are available if needed. The property has open and narrow stairs, so this is something to bear in mind.

The cottage sits in the Yeo Valley near Bideford, with the Tarka Trail half a mile away at Landcross Bridge—good for walking and cycling. A wide sandy beach is 4 miles off, and the old port town of Bideford itself is 2 miles, where you'll find shops and restaurants. Littleham village has a pub and restaurant 1.6 miles away. A patio with garden furniture and a barbecue faces the back; there's also a small front garden. Parking for two cars is on site. No smoking inside the property.

Small but pretty cosy place to stay. On a very busy road

It is in a really good location, outside but close to Bideford, access to the Tara Trail etc. Comfortable, small but big enough for 2 adults (there are additional beds for (I suggest) small kids (not tots)) It came very well equipped. Great log burner heats the whole place, supplemented by electric rads. Walking along the road fronting this cottage is hairy!! Not much traffic, but it's very fast and there is no path...so take a hi-vis tabard!! Lovely garden and large number of songbirds (who expect to be fed) Avery nice base for a lovely week in North Devon
