Thornbury Holiday Park sits on 8½ acres of meadowland dotted with fishing lakes and nature trails, four miles from Holsworthy. Acacia is a detached lodge where you have the whole place to yourselves, with parking for two cars and grounds to explore on foot. One dog stays free; the lakes are unfenced and lie about 20 yards away, so note that if you have young children or are concerned about access.
The lodge is single-storey. You get a double bedroom with its own bath and corner tub, a second bedroom with a three-quarter double bed, and a family bathroom. The open-plan living and dining space has French doors onto a decked garden with furniture. The kitchen is fully fitted—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer—so self-catering is straightforward. Heating, electricity, bed linen and wifi are all included. Freeview television and an electric fire are in the living area.
Fishing on the park's lakes is free if you have a licence. A children's play area is shared with other properties on-site. Close by are Tamar Lakes for watersports, coastal and country walks, and family attractions like The Milky Way and The Big Sheep. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Our family of 14 stayed at Thornbury over the weekend and we had a great time. We stayed across the Lodge, Bungalow and Caravan. All were clean and had everything we needed. We played games on the green outside and enjoyed walks around the lakes. Seeing the animals around the farm was a lovely bonus and the children loved the goats. There is no bar currently but this didn't impact our stay. The small park was lovely for the younger children and the older ones enjoyed the slide as well. The owners were great and very friendly.

Lovely place, we stayed for a wk in Aug. We stayed in Cedar which needs updating, decor is tired in comparison to the one our other family members stayed in. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, lovely walks around the ponds and meadows with a large enclosed field to let dogs off. We had a few encounters with the feathered neighbours, with one particular Cockeral ruling the roost! 😆 lots of character, made for an effective baby gate. The place would benefit from the bar being open during busier wks. Overall very enjoyable wk and would recommend 👌

This place is a great little gem, especially if you have kids. We stayed in a lodge, which was spacious, clean and had everything you would need. There is a great open area, fishing lake and a play park. We also went on a little stroll around the area, which was beautiful. The children we so happy to see chickens, rabbits and the goats, and we took a stroll to see them every day :) there is also a play park and bar. Very accessible and disability friendly which is another huge plus! The only negative is that we didn’t stay longer! But we will 100% be back again in the very near future :) Highly recommend, 10/10 🤩

Fantastic family campsite. Everything you need for a great get away. Facilities are well looked after and the fishing lake is full of fish (impossible not to catch). Lovely waking up to chickens and rabbits. Owners are really friendly too. Such a peaceful place and will be back for sure.
