The Tring Natural History Museum is a really excellent place to visit. It consists of several galleries of largely well preserved animals or animal heads, in large, well lit cases. Some central areas have specimens out in the open. During our visit, there were two or three school visits going on, but the place is large enough to find peace. The museum has a very good cafe, which is accessed from outside the museum and a good car park, a short distance away. This place is well worth a visit.

A superbly realised museum that houses a huge collection of wildlife from every kingdom imaginable. Each animal and creature has been recreated true to size and it's actually eye opening to see just how large some of them can be. The tiger is an instant highlight as it gives you a terrifying overview of the collossal strength and speed it possesses - especially with those razor sharp claws. Other highlights are definitely the various collections of critters, most of which are enough to make your skin crawl - the spider collection and the snake collection will certainly make you wince. There's even a display for various breeds of man's best friend and the history behind the aforementioned breeds is really quite fascinating. Be sure to look up when you visit the various floors as there are many surprises to be found above your head. Admission is free so if you're ever in this pretty part of town, be sure to stop by this museum as it really is rather delightful.
