What visitors say
What an amazing wee place. My brother bought has a two day stay here as a gift in one of the wooden huts. When we arrived we found out we had a lovely upgrade to the hobbit hole (Husband was over the moon). Was th prefect wee stay for our time away without the children. loved the site had a great focus on zero waste. When we arrived there was a power cut but the lady at the desk was very informative and managed to make me feel at ease about this. Which wasn't an issue. These things happen. The toilet block and showers were very clean and in good order. The bite place done amazing food. We had pizza and breakfast rolls, highly recommend. The bar had live music, with friendly staff at bar. Only downside was finding a seat. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Loved our stay.

A Truly Perfect Stay from Start to finish... The purpose of our trip was to take my son and his two best friends (all three aged 16) on a break away at the end of their GCSE's. I had been searching for a site that would accept the boys on their own tent pitch whilst I could book a camping pod nearby but not right next door. The Quiet Site was very welcoming of the idea. I was also delighted once I arrived to find our that I had been upgraded from my camping pod to a Glamping Burrow (Hobbit Hole) with all its added facilities and what a view! I had some work to do while I was there so the covered picnic table outside was the perfect outdoor office. I simply cannot describe this site and its location anything other than exceptional and completely idyllic! Every staff encounter was friendly, engaging and informative when needed. The facilities are all well designed using high quality materials and fixtures that are in keeping with the environment and kept spotlessly clean (I particularly noted the larger projection of the sink in my pod which easily allowed you to fill the kettle with water - I always notice tiny design details like this!) The shop operates as zero waste and has the things you need (I forgot to bring teabags and was delighted to be able to purchase just a few individually and also being able to purchase a few hard ground tent pegs really helped!) The Quiet Bite serves quality fresh breakfast food and delicious wood fired pizzas as well serving exceptional coffee at the right temperature! The Quiet Bar is full of old rustic charm, cosy with a good range of options including some very good non alcoholic gin and the live music from Fettle on the Thursday night was so enjoyable. Finally despite the breath taking views from the site access to the Ullswater Way is right outside the site - I took some lovely early morning local walks and met some very lovely friendly young cows (I grew up on a farm so I did encourage them over) if I had just walked straight through I am sure they would have ignored me completely. My son and his friends did the circular walk straight from the site to Aira Force Waterfalls and back completely independently and they had a very enjoyable time. A delightful place to escape to and be in nature, we will be back (my son and I want to walk the whole Ullswater Way). I am already checking dates for our return ...

Fantastic wknd, this used to be where we holidayed as children with our parents, many not still with us now, so a few of us decided to walk back down memory lane, we were last there 55 years ago!!!! We were definitely not disappointed, all the memories were there, but the standard and facilities on site were exceptional, the bar was still as cosy too. Will definitely be back. There is a strict noise policy after 9pm, and no noise after 10, but we knew this before we arrived, and definitely helped the site live up to its name 😀 The shuttle bus which came to site to and from nearby villages was an added bonus

Hands down mine and my partners very favourite place. Brill location for lots of walks around Ullswater. The staff are superb people and make the experience of coming here absolutely fabulous. The facilities are perfect, lovely hot showers, all spotless and really looked after. Pizzas are beautiful and the shop has everything you need as well as lovely local items. A big shout out to Owen, he is attentive, caring and very funny. Thank you all for having us every time. We are so grateful for the quiet site.
