Hive Mews

Vale of White Horse

You climb external stairs to reach Hive Mews, a Grade II listed apartment on the first floor of a period building in Abingdon-on-Thames. Inside, wooden beams run through the rooms, giving the space real character. Everything is arranged on one level: a living and dining area with Freeview television, a kitchen with electric cooking facilities and a washing machine, a bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a bathroom with both bath and walk-in shower. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are included; you'll have parking for one car on site.

Abingdon sits where the Thames meets the Ock, surrounded by open countryside yet close enough to Oxford for a day trip by bus. The town has its own rhythm: Monday markets in the marketplace, restaurants and cafés catering to varied tastes, several pubs within a mile, and a riverside walk that starts just a few minutes away. Beyond the immediate area, the Cotswolds, Chilterns and Berkshire Downs are all accessible for driving or cycling, dotted with country pubs and villages. Blenheim Palace lies 16 miles north. The property suits couples seeking a quiet base from which to explore both the town and the surrounding landscape. No smoking inside.
