Buttercup Cottage

Southport's beaches, Liverpool's attractions, and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal all sit within easy reach of Buttercup Cottage. The canal itself draws walkers and cyclists for miles; the nearby gastro pub is a 20-minute walk away, and Ormskirk's twice-weekly market, independent shops and cafés lie just three miles off. For slower days, the cottage has its own heated indoor pool (22m by 10m, open 9am to 6pm), with a whirlpool and changing facilities, plus an enclosed acre of grounds with an orchard and seating areas.

The whole property is yours alone. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds (request two singles if you prefer), and there are two bathrooms—one ensuite with a walk-in shower, the other with a bath. The ground-floor layout contains an open-plan living space with a 42-inch smart TV and wood-effect electric heater, a separate dining area, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: oven, hob, dishwasher, and all the usual appliances. Essentials like wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard. There is a fenced pond in the garden. The property does not accommodate smoking. Wheelchair access is available, and parking for four cars is private.
