Photo: Stone Hall Farm Luxury Glamping

Stone Hall Farm occupies rural land between Wigan and the moorlands beyond, where open countryside and quiet set the tone. Sky Lark Lodge is a single pod on the farm's grounds, purpose-built for comfort rather than roughing it. It has one bedroom and one bathroom, sleeping up to four with a sofa bed in the living space, and the whole place is yours alone for the duration of your stay.

Inside, the layout is open-plan around a wood-burning stove, with a kitchenette (two-ring hob, microwave and fridge) at one end and a dining area flowing into the lounge. Bi-fold doors open the living space onto a private garden, where a wood-fired hot tub sits ready for use. Underfloor heating runs throughout, and Wi-Fi keeps you connected if needed. Bed linen, towels and initial firewood are included; electricity is on you. One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay.

Parking for two cars sits on site. The farm's equestrian stables lie nearby, and from here you can walk or cycle into the surrounding countryside. Haigh Hall Country Park, with woodland trails and a miniature railway, is within reach for a day out. Blackpool's seafront attractions are roughly 40 minutes by car; Liverpool, Manchester and the Lake District are all under an hour away. No smoking inside the lodge.

We had the best stay here, Sue and family go above and beyond from giving you recommendations to always being on the other end of the phone if you need anything! The place was so beautiful, just like the pictures, you don't even need to leave you have everything there. Added bonus if you love horses as it's lovely being able to see them so close! Can't wait to stay there again!
