Lepus Lodge

Lepus Lodge is a log cabin built in Finnish style, standing on farmland where hares are a common sight. The single bedroom property sits alone on the owner's arable farm, looking out over a wildflower meadow, yet Lincoln's cathedral and castle lie only 10 minutes' drive away. The cabin takes its name from the Latin for hare, a nod to the wildlife that inhabits the surrounding fields.

Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with freeview television and DVD player, a separate dining area, and a kitchen with washing machine. The bedroom contains a kingsize bed, and the ensuite has both a roll-top bath and a cubicle shower. Bed linen and towels come as standard, along with Wi-Fi and heating. A lawned garden with veranda overlooks the meadow, and there is a tennis court on the property, plus parking for one car and a bike store. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

The location suits those wanting peace and quiet within reach of somewhere more lively. The county showground is adjacent; RAF Scampton (home of the Red Arrows) lies three miles away. Doddington Hall, Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Hemswell Antique Centres and the Lincolnshire coast are all within reasonable driving distance. The nearest shop is three miles away, the nearest pub two and a half.
