Alban is a newly built log house on the West Lothian countryside, a couple of miles from Linlithgow. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both reachable by train in around 25 minutes. The property has three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across two floors, sleeping up to seven guests. One dog is welcome. You arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am.
The ground floor is mostly one open space: a living area with a woodburner and smart TV looking out across fields, a dining zone, and a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Two bedrooms are also downstairs—one with a king bed, one with a double bunk and single above (the top bunk is suitable for children only). A shower room serves this level. Upstairs, a super king bedroom opens directly onto a first-floor veranda, with an ensuite shower room attached. The heating is electric underfloor and air-source heat pump; electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, as are the initial logs for the burner. You have private parking for two cars and access via concrete and hardcore tracks.
The veranda is genuinely the standout feature—breakfast or lunch there catches whatever light the day offers, and on clear days the Trossachs mountains are visible. The open-plan living spaces work well for groups, and the countryside setting means wildlife and quiet rather than neighbours.
