The Snug

The Snug is a first-floor apartment on woodland grounds in West Lothian, positioned roughly midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. It sleeps two in a super kingsize bed, with a shower room, and open-plan living and dining areas. Everything you need for self-catering is here: a fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine; a wood-burning stove; wifi and parking for two cars on site. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with electricity. The property is no-smoking.

What sets this place apart is the private hot tub, set into the woodland grounds where you might spot deer and local birds. There's a small enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture, plus a bike store if you want to explore on two wheels. A welcome pack is provided on arrival. The location works well for reaching either city by train in about 30 minutes, or for basing yourself somewhere quieter—Blawhorn Nature Reserve is nearby, and Beecraigs and Polkemmet country parks are within reach. The Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle and Linlithgow Palace are all day-trip distance. Trout fishing is three miles away, and a shop, restaurants and supermarket are nearby.
