Ellen Cottage dates from the 1700s and retains the character of a traditional Cotswold home. Stone walls, exposed beams, flagstone floors and an inglenook fireplace run through the property, which is split across three levels. The split layout means the main bedroom sits apart from the other two, each accessible by its own staircase—useful if you're bringing children or friends who need privacy from one another.
The main floor holds the heart of things: a combined living and dining room with a wood burner, patio doors onto a raised terraced garden, and a kitchen equipped for actual cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and space to work. The largest bedroom has a four-poster super king bed and an ensuite with both bath and shower; a double and a twin bedroom are accessed separately upstairs. Downstairs is a shower room and utility space. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial fuel for the fire and a welcome pack. The garden is enclosed with seating areas and furniture; there is parking for one car on site. Smoking is not permitted. A three-step change in level exists in the garden.
Fulbrook is a small village roughly half a mile from Burford, a market town with restaurants and shops. The property suits groups wanting separate sleeping quarters and a base for exploring the Cotswolds; the split-level design means it's not ideal for anyone with mobility concerns.
