Barton Hall Farm - Stable Cottage
Westmorland and Furness
Pooley Bridge sits at the northern tip of Lake Ullswater, where the landscape opens into some of the Lake District's most dramatic scenery. This corner of Westmorland and Furness draws walkers, water sports enthusiasts and anyone seeking quiet countryside—and Stable Cottage, converted from a stone farm building on a traditional working farm just outside the village, puts you right in that landscape. The cottage is yours alone, sleeping two in a double bedroom with a bathroom holding a bath and shower. Downstairs, a living room with woodburner and a kitchen-dining space give you everything you need to cook and settle in.
Wood-fired heating keeps things warm, and electricity, bed linen and wi-fi are covered in the rent. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave. You get private parking for one car on site. A pub is within a mile, and shops and restaurants are half a mile away in the village. The cottage allows one well-behaved pet. No smoking indoors.
Lake Ullswater is minutes away—walkers head for the High Street range a mile off, or further afield to Helvellyn at ten miles. Penrith's market town is five miles south. The fells frame everything here; it's the setting rather than the facilities that matters most.
