Photo: Beeswax Cottage

Beeswax Cottage is a traditional stone end-terrace in the heart of Dalton-in-Furness, a town tucked into a narrow valley between Morecambe Bay and the Lake District hills. The building carries real character, with an open-plan ground floor that serves as the main living space—50-inch Smart TV, wood-effect electric fire, dining area and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Upstairs, two king-size bedrooms and a bathroom with shower over the tub complete the layout.

The cottage suits couples or small families wanting to explore the area without being hemmed in by a city. The Brown Cow sits less than a mile away, and a free car park is metres from the door. A patio garden with furniture and barbecue gives you outdoor space. One pet is welcome. Essentials like heating, linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; you'll find a shop half a mile off, and a beach three miles south. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Haverthwaite Steam Railway and Ulverston—birthplace of Stan Laurel—are all within a short drive, while the Duddon Estuary and Grizedale Forest lie to the north.

Currently staying here. Lovely set up and close to local shops. Cute cottage theme. Clean and tidy. However, the shower taps are loose, the Wi-Fi keeps dropping and the bed frame in top bedroom is loose.
