What guests say
The room is very nice but not at all what ot looks like on the website. We waited for neally 15 minutes to check in as no one was at reception and no bell to ring to get attention. The bar is nice but expensive. I got charged £3.25 for a coffee made out of a satchel that was free in the room. Staff are lovely.

What a fantastic venue and experience at The Dunes Hotel. We recently hosted our Roots of May Holistic Health Gathering here along with a Demonstration of Mediumship the evening before, and I honestly could not fault the hotel or staff. From the very beginning, Charlotte and the whole team were incredibly helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped everything run smoothly across the whole weekend. The venue itself is beautiful, spacious and has such a lovely atmosphere. Many of our stallholders and visitors commented on how friendly and supportive the staff were throughout the event. A huge thank you again for helping make the weekend such a success. We are already looking forward to hopefully returning again next year ✨ Deborah Brookes Roots of Life Events

We stayed here for just 1 night with our dogs for our anniversary after visiting windermere for the day & seeing the amazing reviews about the hotel being dog friendly. On arrival we checked in & found our room didn't lock, very quickly the manager & lady on reception dealt with it & we were moved to another room which seemed to be an upgraded room also. The bed & room was HUGE & it also gave us more space in the room for our two big dog beds we'd brought so no complaints there! The room was lovely, clean & provided little bottle of toiletries, which was a nice touch & helpful because I'd forgot my body lotion. We didn't get breakfast in the morning as my partner & I aren't big eaters in the morning. We slept really well & I wish we'd had chance to stay longer. We did want to book longer for a holiday in May however the £15 per dog per night cleaning fee put me off a little as over the 4 nights we wanted to stay, it would have added £120 to our bill which would have put us over budget for the holiday. From previous places we've stopped in, we've paid a one off cleaning fee regardless of how many nights we've stopped (per dog). However I can also understand that you get alsorts of slobby, shedding, dogs & potentially any dog can leave a mess so can see why the hotel also does it, but it does make it out of budget for a longer stay for us personally. I would definitely come back for a short stay in the future though. The proximity to the beach is fantastic, it was howling & rainy when we left on the morning so we didn't get to enjoy the beach but it was a factor for booking in the end. Overall it was great value for money for the room, add on the dog cleaning fee and it was around average price. It was a very peaceful & picturesque stay, the hotel was maintained really well & whilst there was a function on downstairs we couldn't hear a thing from the side of the hotel with the rooms. The staff were super friendly, couldn't do enough to help. The beds were really comfy & rooms very clean, modern & breezy. Fantastic stay & wish we could have stopped longer.

Stayed for busines. Interesting location. Nice styled hotel but the room was tired with damaged furniture and a room was not super clea . The bed felt old. The bathroom had been upgraded and was nice and clean. The staff were great. All in all an nice hotel in need of updating but the price didnt reflect good value.
