A pub is within easy walking distance, and shops and restaurants are 1½ miles off.

The ground floor has a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, plus a wood burner for cooler evenings, and a kitchen/dining room with electric cooker and microwave. Upstairs are a double bedroom and a smaller double, with a shower room between them. The large shared garden offers a patio, sitting area, summerhouse and barbecue—useful for summer evenings. You get a private parking space, and there's a bike store if you want to explore by pedal. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included.

The location works as a touring base for the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale and Weardale, or if you prefer slower pace, fishing on the River Eden is available locally and the Carlisle to Settle railway runs through Kirkby Stephen. The owners live next door and are on hand if you need anything.
