The Larches

The Eden Valley sits between two of England's most walked landscapes, with fell country rising to either side and riverside paths threading through quiet villages. The Larches is a stone cottage in this rural setting, positioned beside a beck and accessed via a small bridge. The village has a couple of pubs and shops within walking distance, while Kirkby Stephen's market town amenities lie just beyond.

Five bedrooms sleep ten across a layout that mixes flexibility with comfort: an ensuite double upstairs, a kingsize, two doubles and two twin rooms, plus an alcove with a single bed. Three bathrooms and a shower room mean mornings run smoothly. Downstairs, the kitchen has a full range of appliances for cooking from scratch, and the living room has a woodburner and television. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer takes care of laundry. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included.

The enclosed terraced garden opens onto views across the valley, with furniture for outdoor sitting. On-site parking means no hunting for spaces. A beck runs alongside the house and there are five steps down to the terrace. The property is rented whole to yourself, and one well-behaved dog can stay free. No smoking inside.
