Borran Annexe

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

Grizedale Forest is three miles away, making Borran Annexe a practical base for days spent on the fell. The forest has trails for all abilities, from gentle woodland routes to challenging black runs for mountain bikers, plus a café and children's play area. The Rusland Valley nearby rewards exploration with archaeological sites, and the Greenwood Trails and Hay Bridge Nature Reserve offer quieter alternatives. For something different, Go Ape's treetop courses and zip wires are close by, as is Old Hall Farm in Bouth—a working Victorian farm where you can try tractor driving or buy fresh milk straight from the gate.

This one-bedroom annexe attached to the owner's home sits in the hamlet of Oxen Park. The ground floor has an open-plan living space with a woodburner and TV, a kitchen with an electric cooker and combi oven, and a double bedroom. There is a shower room and an enclosed garden with decked patio and seating. One car can park on site. Electricity, bed linen, towels and initial fuel for the stove are included; additional wood comes via honesty box. A pub is less than a mile away. Pets stay free. The garden contains an unfenced pond, and there are internal steps throughout the property.
