Hole House Farm Cottages - Riverbank Cottage

Riverbank Cottage is thoroughly equipped for self-catering. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and full-sized fridge-freezer, so you can cook properly rather than make do. Three bedrooms sleep five: a kingsize, a double and a single, each with its own ensuite or access to one of the two bathrooms. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, and there's a washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays. The living room has a TV and DVD player, with an open fire (fuel included September to May). You get private parking for three cars on site.

The cottage sits on a working farm half a mile from the Ullswater shore, with the River Eamont running through the land and Lakeland fells rising beyond. Pooley Bridge—with its shops, pubs, cafes and steamer trips—is a quarter-mile walk away. Penrith is six miles off, and the High Street range of peaks about a mile. A garden with decking, furniture and a barbecue opens from the house, and there's a bike store if you want to explore on two wheels. A cot and highchair are available. The property suits families and couples; smoking is not permitted.
