Letterbox Cottage

You arrive at a traditional stone cottage and climb three steps to the entrance. The ground floor holds the kitchen and dining room, where an electric range, dishwasher and other essentials are ready for cooking. The living room, with its woodburner and wooden beams, sits upstairs but is accessible from ground level. Two bedrooms are on the first floor: one with a double bed, one with bunks. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Underfloor heating warms the kitchen and dining room; electric central heating runs through the rest of the property, though the woodburner provides warmth and character when you want it. Essentials like bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, and there's private parking for two cars on site.

Far Sawrey sits in the heart of Beatrix Potter country, with walks and cycling trails starting from the door. Hawkshead is less than three miles away, offering shops and restaurants. Lake Windermere and the ferry terminal lie a mile off, opening up a choice of water-based days out. An award-winning pub stands just 2 minutes' walk away, serving lunch and evening meals. One well-behaved dog stays free. The cottage does not allow smoking.
